Today I saw
"Together" which was a lovely gem of a film. Finally!
It's the second Chinese film I've seen recently and have thorougly enjoyed. There's something so interesting about watching a movie in a language totally unknown, in a completely unfamiliar setting, with actors you have never seen before.
This movie was touching and engrossing and I could just envision how Hollywood would scoop this up and remake a totally sappy, saccharine version of it.
And don't think I'm a dweeb for mentioning this, but there just happened to be some knitting in the film. The father of the young boy in the film, unravels an old sweater to reknit a new one for his son. Very sweet, indeed.
