Yesterday, I had lunch with a former co-worker, who is a breast cancer survivor. When I first started working with her, I immediately loved her for sense of humor, strength and attitude towards life.
When she was diagnosed last year, she amazed us all. She kept coming into work, even if it was for an hour, did radiation on her lunch hour and basically kept everyone else calm and at ease around her. She was inspired to start knitting again, when she saw the stuff I kept bringing in to work. When the scarf she brought it was so crooked and full of holes, it was a metaphor for how she felt.
I'm sponsoring Ms. Squibnocket in her
efforts to raise money for breast cancer research. Click here and you can, too.
